Types of Stainless Steel Angles

Hot Rolling Stainless Steel Angles

Stainless steel angles are produced most cheaply via hot rolling. Hot rolling is not extremely expensive or complicated. As a result, it is a viable economic option to obtain the goods. With this technology, one gets a product with fewer requirements for tolerances, rounded angles, and an internal radius that can be as much as twice as thick as the material.

Cold Rolling Stainless Steel Angles

Stainless steel angles that have been cold rolled have a smooth, brilliant surface. These profiles have very small radii both inside and outside and have tight tolerances. Such stainless steel angles are frequently employed for decorative purposes, such as in the manufacture of furniture. They are frequently polished in a mirror, which seems simple given the already-smooth surface.

Cold Drawing Stainless Steel Angles

Another production technique that enables extremely precise sections is a cold drawing of stainless steel angles. There is no inner radius and all the corners are acute. Angles made of stainless steel that are cold-drawn have dimensions that are comparable to those of cold-rolled angles. In addition, they have aesthetic uses. The largest application, meanwhile, is in the manufacturing of machines, which calls for a high degree of precision and dimensional accuracy.

Cold Forming or Press Braking Stainless Steel Angles

Two other techniques that are comparable to cold forming and press braking are used to make stainless steel angles. Both manufacturing processes produce a bend radius both on the interior and exterior. Strong cold deformation causes the stainless steel to harden during cold operation, which is not only undesirable but may also have additional unfavorable effects.

On the other hand, press braking only results in single bars. A flat bar that is positioned in a trimming press and bent to a stainless steel angle is formed using a specific mold and arbor press.
